Cosmetic Packaging Revision Control

Cosmetic packaging revision control is the discipline of managing and documenting changes to an approved package after specifications, drawings, artwork, BOM or samples have been frozen. It ensures each bottle, jar, closure, pump, dropper, sprayer, gasket, decoration or carton is linked to a current version, and that proposed substitutions or dimension changes are reviewed for fit, sealing, function, appearance and formula contact before implementation. Effective control uses unique revision identifiers, change requests, impact assessments, approval records and obsolete-document withdrawal. It differs from initial sample approval: approval freezes a configuration, while revision control governs what may change afterward and how the change is communicated across buyers, suppliers and production. Production should reference only released revisions.
