Packaging BOM Control

Packaging BOM control is the discipline of defining and maintaining the approved component structure for a cosmetic package. It maps the bottle or jar, closure, pump, dropper, sprayer, reducer, gasket, decoration, label, and secondary pack to exact drawings, specifications, supplier sources, and revision status. A controlled BOM also records approved alternates, unit of measure, assembly relationships, and links each item to relevant evidence and samples. This prevents undocumented substitutions and keeps procurement, filling, and quality teams aligned. Effective BOM control freezes the production-intent configuration before bulk orders and provides the reference that later change control, compatibility review, and compliance documentation depend on.
