Dropper Bulb Displacement

Dropper bulb displacement is the effective volume of air that the rubber bulb moves when compressed, which sets the suction available to draw formula into the pipette. It helps explain why a dropper may show a partial liquid column rather than filling completely, especially when bulb volume is smaller than pipette capacity. Uptake also depends on pipette bore and length, formula viscosity and surface behavior, air leaks at the closure or bulb, immersion depth, and user technique. A stable partial fill can be normal; the meaningful specification is consistent delivered dose and acceptable release. Brands should diagnose inconsistent uptake against these variables before changing the bulb or approving production.
